Day 59, Garden Planning

Today is the last day of February! Spring is right around the corner. I'm excited to start planting our garden.

Saturday, February 27

Day 58, Can we please come inside?

It was even too cold and miserable for the dogs and I had absolutely no desire to stay outside and throw snowballs for them.

Day 57, It's snowing again, really?

Really? This is, what, the fifth snowstorm this winter? Really? Two feet of snow, really? Spring starts in 21 days, really!

SNL is still funny sometimes.

Day 56, Tasha

I am always amazed with light painting. This one took some time and I used a bit of Photoshop to pull it together.

Thursday, February 25

Day 55, Livestock Auction

Today we went to the Mt. Hope livestock auction. Sadly, I wasn't allowed to take pictures, but I did manage to take this one before I saw the sign.

Day 54, Fan

Not the most exciting photo but this fan is one of my favorite things in my home.

Day 53, Coffee

Coffee is not a drug, it's a vitamin.

Sunday, February 21

Day 52, Drip

Water drops hitting concrete.

I took this photo in the barn. I will definitely attempt a photo like this in a more controlled environment again this year.

Day 51, Dilapidated

We moved into our house just a little over a year ago and as I walked around the barns  today I noticed something. It really needs a lot work.

Friday, February 19

Day 50, Sunglasses and Snow

The sun is back!!

This Photoshop recipe consisted of a little bit of a glow, a tiny bit of grain, a pinch of a straighten, and a slight crop. A total start to finish cook time of about ten minutes.

Day 49, Chubbs and Sweetie

Our pretty kitty Chubbs, so named because after we rescued her she nearly quadrupled her body weight in a just a few short weeks.

And because February is such a small month here is our other cat Sweetie.

Thursday, February 18

Day 48, Nightstand Books

I've fallen way behind on my reading. I just keep adding to the pile without finishing anything.

Also this picture came way after midnight, oops.

Wednesday, February 17

Day 47, Dominoes

Fun! Even if I always lose. And I really shouldn't keep score, simple math is hard.

Monday, February 15

Day 46, No Mail Today

All day long I kept obsessively checking to see if the little red flag was down so I could rush out to get my stack of junk mail and bills.

Day 45, Banana Impluse Buy

A couple days ago Jeremy went to the gas station and came home with a grocery bag full of geriatric bananas, proudly proclaiming that they were only 2 dollars. I'll wait while you read that sentence again. You can't make this stuff up.

It's going to be ok though I just found a recipe for Chocolate Chip Banana Cookies! Yum.

Day 44, Motrin

Today I photographed a beautiful wedding but at the end of the day a few of these are needed. All the up and down is hard on the knees and standing in front of the speakers because that is the best angle is rough too, but all worth it! (Don't worry I only took two.)

Update: After rereading this I have determined that my birth certificate lied. I am clearly half a million years old.

Friday, February 12

Day 43, Dogs Running

They are the best of friends. They are the worst of friends.

Day 42, Rechargeable Batteries

One of my favorite things.

Taken on a piece of poster board in my office.

Wednesday, February 10

Day 41, More Snow

The snow is starting to pile up over here.

I took this picture from my living room window to avoid trekking through the snow.

Day 40, It's Snowing Again

Does it seem like an unusually snowy winter?

The top of the barn as seen from my bedroom window.

Monday, February 8

Day 39, Frost

Today was absolutely gorgeous. I had a tough time picking just one picture, so I picked two. My game, my rules.

Day 38, Super Bowl XLIV

Since today was the Super Bowl I wanted to do something football themed and since I couldn't find a football I decided to make one.

I did this photo about 15 million times using an ISO of 100, f/22, and a shutter of 15s. In Photoshop I did very few minor cloning and smudging changes and applied a glass filter to add texture.

Saturday, February 6

Day 37, No Outlet

The weather is presenting it's own 'no outlet' for me and my photos. The last few weeks it has either been a disgusting gray color or too cold for me to venture outside for the purpose of taking a good photo, plus I haven't been feeling well lately. Starting now I'm making it a goal to get out of this funk and go outside whatever the conditions, unless it's too cold... Or too gray...

Taken from my kitchen window, my goal of going outside starts tomorrow.

Day 36, The Snow is Back

Another snowstorm hits.

Looking out my front window. Feb 5, 2010.

Thursday, February 4

Day 35, Work Finishing Up

Finally the work is over!! It should be much quieter around here and I'll be able to focus on something different.

Day 34, Backhoe

This is part of one of the backhoes from our front yard.

Tuesday, February 2

Day 33, Dakota Bored with The Workers

This may not be the most exciting picture to anyone but me and Jeremy. They are bringing in sewers to our township, so for the next couple days this is what it will look like out our front windows. Thankfully, Dakota has started to chill out and has stopped barking non-stop at the three or four backhoes, handful of dump-trucks, dozen or so workers and porter potty that has set up shop in our front yard.

This is actually a combo of two photos in order for both Dakota and and the outside scene to be in focus and it really isn't my best work at combining two pics.

Day 32, Chicken Taco Night

I love how colorful and delicious tacos are.

Bouncing flash. Feb 1, 2010.
