Day 31, My Watch at 11:59:59pm
So, once again, the picture that I was trying to take didn't work out. I was sitting at my desk sulking just watching the seconds tick by... then light-bulb! But I only had one shot to get the shot at exactly 11:59:59, because everyone knows you can't stop time ☺.
Goodbye snowy, gray, cold January!

Day 30, Scrabble
Day 29, Mason and Dakota
So I totally dropped the photo ball today. I had planned on taking a picture of the full moon (which, as it turns out, is tomorrow anyways), but we had family and friends come over and since we were having such a good time I totally missed my opportunity. However I did manage to take a few candid pics. I liked this one because my reflection is in the window. Gotta love reflections!

Day 28, Laser Pointer
The light from a laser pointer is pretty intense when someone points it in your eye. So when Jeremy unearthed our old laser pointer(which purpose is only to entertain our cats) I wanted to see what our eye sees when someone 'accidentally' points it in your eye.

Day 25, Afternoon Tea
After a ridiculous amount of time trying in vain to capture the steam from the tea kettle, while listening to the insanely annoying whistle, I accepted defeat and applied some Photoshop trickery.
Taken in my kitchen, while wearing earplugs and trying to remember to keep my big-headed reflection out of the shot.

Day 23, Fan Lights
I hit a real mind block today. The photos that I wanted to do were either not going to work or they simply took to much set up and I'm still tired from being sick the last couple of days. So this is what I came up with. It's not a terribly exciting photo but it does satisfy my photo-of-the-day need.
Taken looking up at my kitchen ceiling fan with a star filter.

Day 22, Fire Breathing
First of all, do NOT try this at home! That being said this isn't particularly dangerous and Jeremy is pretty comfortable with the fire. But I would not have been terribly disappointed if he singed his beloved musty-stache. ☺
Taken at home. We only tried this about three times because it still scares me.

Day 20, Working Hands
This photo is not exactly the result I was hoping for when I thought of this. Oh well. I'm sure that in the next 345 days I will be able to reattempt/improve this shot or something similar.
Taken in my office using my handy-dandy desk lamp and a slow shutter speed.

Day 19, The Dancers
Wow. Today was pretty busy, I almost didn't make my picture for the day. These are the dancers from Day 11.
Taken in my bedroom using a pillow case as a background and some minor Photoshop trickery.

Day 18, Chocolate Oatmeal Cookies
Many moons ago I made oatmeal cookies, i.e., inedible hockey pucks that vaguely resembled oatmeal cookies. Due to that incredible failure I never made oatmeal cookies again...until today. The results are both edible AND tasty!!!
Taken in my kitchen with an umbrella light.

Day 17, Foggy Sunday Drive
Today isn't the only thing that's incredibly foggy. My brain is pretty foggy too.
Taken while driving west on Route 82 in Columbia Station.

Day 16, Hand-Feed a Chickadee
Today we went to hand-feed chickadees at the Brecksville Nature Center. It was cute. If you would like to hand-feed chickadees yourself, be at the nature center between 10am to noon on a Saturday or Sunday until February 28th. Then you can hand-feed chickadees! It's fun to say hand-feed chickadees. ☺
Day 16 Bonus Pic!
Because it takes more than 30 seconds to hand-feed a chickadee☺ Jeremy gave up almost instantly and made, and fed, his own snow-chickadee.

Day 11, Dance
The photo was made in my bedroom and was a little bit of a hillbilly set-up, yee-haw. I placed my camera inside a cowboy hat on my bed, I know it sounds weird but it is perfect for holding the camera on the bed. Then I positioned the dancing sculpture on a piece of white paper to help bounce light up and adjusted the comforter to hide the paper. After that I wrote dance in the air with the flash light(I didn't bother trying to write it backwards, just flipped it later in Photoshop) and shined the light straight down on the sculpture for a few seconds.

Day 10, The Sleeping Faun
This is my second favorite piece at the Cleveland Museum of Art, with my husband in background getting in touch with his artistic side. My favorite is Portrait of the Ladies Amabel and Mary Jemima Yorke, which is so much better in person. I also love Portrait of Catherine Grey, Lady Manners. Definitely worth the free admission!
Note to self: Spontaneous trips to the Cleveland Museum of Art on a Sunday afternoon are much more enjoyable when you are not wearing super cute, uncomfortable heals. Remember to put an emergency pair of comfy flats in the trunk for such occasions!

Day 9, Light Painting #1
This photo was created in my bedroom. I covered a small flash light with tissue paper and tied it to the ceiling fan and gave it a whirl. The camera was resting on the floor pointing upwards, with an ISO of 100, f/5.0, and a shutter speed of 15 seconds.

My 365 Photo Project
I'm starting this 365 photo project to help me focus on different forms of photography that I have either put off experimenting with for fear of failure or lack of motivation. And this will force me to reattempt the photos that I did try and they turned out to be epic failures.
A thought-out, somewhat artistic photo a day for year is going to be a large undertaking in an already busy life but I'm going to give this project my all.
Here I go...
